For a special birthday or wedding gift, give away something that will remind the recipient of you every time the occasion repeats every year. An anniversary clock got its name from the concept of having a timepiece that can run over a year without being wound.

To maintain good working condition though, anniversary clocks must be cleaned, oiled and adjusted every three years by an authorized repairman. Have clocks checked every now and then as well if they already need a new mainspring or suspension.
