There are several cases where ankle holsters are used in place of the traditional holster. Ankle holsters can be hidden by long trousers. While with the typical holster, a jacket is necessary as a cover up.
The only drawback is that it is harder to get to the ankle holster. However, when you have to be discreet about your firearm, this is a better alternative. Smaller shooters are, of course, preferable if you are to use this holding gear.
